About MICROMUN

MICROMUN Institute for Microbiological Research GmbH is a specialised private laboratory, which offers versatile services in the field of virology.

The institute was founded by the virologist Prof. Dr. Leopold Döhner in 1993.

The members of the MICROMUN staff are physicians, microbiologists and biotechnologists by profession.

Because of the qualification and the long lasting experience of the MICROMUN team in the fields of microbiology and virology, MICROMUN holds all necessary permissions and certificates to work with human- and animal pathogenic viruses and microorganisms. MICROMUN runs a high safety laboratory (S3), four S2 laboratories and a cell culture laboratory on a total laboratory space area of more than 500 m2 for this purpose. The highest safety level and the modern equipment at MICRMUN are the basis of our national and international research contracts.
The quality management system of MICROMUN has been certified according to GLP since 1997 and according to GMP since 2003.

Our highly motivated team of scientists and technicians guarantees flexibility and prompt reaction on the requests of our customers. Competent advice, risk assessment, consulting and expert opinion in addition to individual customer care are fixed characters of our work.

MICROMUN is placed in the modern laboratory building "Biotechnikum" in the city Greifswald. This town has an ongoing formative influence to virology due to the research work of Friedrich Loeffler, the founder of virology, during the last century.

Since its foundation, MICROMUN has provided more than 220 places for vocational pupils internships and more than 100 places for student internships. We understand this as our contribution and sponsoring for modern biological education and we will continue these activities.
